There is absolutely no need to accept the first mortgage offer that comes your way. As the customer you have the power to negotiate!! Talk to different lenders and LET THEM KNOW you are shopping and comparing. The difference in a few points on your monthly interest can make a real difference.
The best rate so far for a closed mortgage 5 year term (as of Jan10,2006) - MyMortgageStore.ca @ 4.82%
Some banks are as high as 6.3%. Do the math!
